ZTE, Huawei to Manufacture Mobile Phones in Venezuela

China-based ZTE recently announced to set up a mobile phone manufacturing facility in Venezuela, with construction slated to begin in the second half of 2007, Chinese-language Xinhua News reported. The company expects to manufacture one million mobile phones by the end of 2008.

Meanwhile, another Chinese company Huawei announced to join hands with Venezuela's state-owned CVG Telecom to build a plant for GSM phone production in the country. Production is scheduled to start in 2008.
